Five Elms Primary School has a rather special member of staff — Steve the tortoise!
As the school’s official emotional support animal, Steve plays an important role in helping pupils develop empathy, responsibility, and emotional awareness.
Calm, patient, and always up for a leafy snack, Steve provides a soothing presence for children who might need a quiet moment or a friendly face during the day.
Whether he’s slowly exploring the playground or relaxing in his cosy enclosure, Steve reminds everyone at Five Elms that care, kindness, and taking things at your own pace can make a big difference.
